Working Alongside the Professional Community
Twin Cities SAA appreciates the important role therapists and other professionals can play in helping individuals seek support and recovery. SAA is a fellowship of equals. Our recovery is based on one sex addict helping another through shared experience and working the Twelve Steps. While SAA neither endorses nor opposes therapy, our Twelve Traditions guide how SAA groups interact with outside professionals and organizations.
- Tradition Six: An SAA group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the SAA name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.
- Tradition Ten: Sex Addicts Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence, the SAA name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
This means Twin Cities SAA cannot promote or recommend individual therapists, treatment centers, businesses, or other outside services. SAA remains neutral on matters outside the fellowship, including different forms of professional treatment.
SAA is a fellowship of equals
We have no professional class in our meetings. Our recovery is based on one sex addict helping another by sharing the spiritual solution to our addiction found in working the Twelve Steps.
Therefore, we neither endorse nor oppose therapy.Accordingly, we may not accept your offer. We do have a website www.saa-recovery.org that lists meetings and SAA pamphlets and books open to all.

Someone does not need to have everything figured out before attending. They can visit a meeting, listen, and learn more about the program.
